So you may notice how the whole island is themed. There's a reason for that. Mackinac Island is a trip in time, down to the horse drawn carriages and antique inspired buildings. It's a little known fact that the buildings are mandated to be in Victorian architecture. Now you may look around and wonder how some places count as Victorian. Well...some of the newer places only barely count. If you're like me, you can be a stickler about these kind of rules. Except they're pretty none the less. That's what really counts.
P.S.- not to brag or anything (but totally bragging), our house is one of the eldest on the island!
